Managing Your Manuscript

Wrap up

It may seem like a hassle to go through all of this when all you want to do is write. I've been there, I know. Honestly, though, a little bit of upfront investment will save you trouble in the long run, especially when you have several manuscripts on your hands. Keeping a manuscript and its related information in a manuscript folder means that you can find it quickly. Keeping a submission history means that you won't lose track of who is reviewing which manuscript. Keeping your contracts and other important documents after a manuscript has been published will help you if you end with having any legal or tax issues. If you don't like any of the suggestions in this article, that's fine with me. You should at devise some other way to manage your manuscripts though. Organization will keep you sane in the long run.
