Well, I always hated Web pages that talked about the people who made them and nothing else. I mean, honestly, I just don't understand personal web pages. I don't really want to know anything about how someone's hamster eats 3 cups of hamster chow every day. It's just plain boring.

But I always like to know a little bit about the person whose Web site I'm using to learn something. Knowing a little bit about the person helps me judge whether their tips on technical writing, instructions on designing technical illustrations, or their pointers on researching technical topics are valid. It puts my mind a little at ease.
