Upcoming Events For NWPI

We had a fun meeting March 19th at El Tapatio and the weather held out for an investigation at Woodbine Cemetery. We'd like to welcome the new guests and also congratulate Lise Beals on being appointed NWPI's new President. We know she will do a good job and she welcomes all input on ideas from the group. Lise and Harry are our EVP specialists and will be teaching a class on EVP's later this year. All members are welcome to take this class. We look forward to it! Lise will be scheduling the next meeting and will e-mail everyone.

On Feb.20th the NWPI team did an investigation of The Heathman Hotel in downtown Portland. It was a great experience! Some of the members picked spirits up on film and video, and some very good EVP's were caught on tape by Harry. Bob & Todd shot a short segment in room 703, reportedly haunted by the spirit of a man and woman, for their newest version of "Visions From Beyond" We wish to thank, General Manager Jeff, our guide Barbara Flowers, and Ryan. Their hospitality was awesome! And Ryan, we hope to see you next month as our guest.

Bob & Renee had the opportunity to investigate The Geiser Grand Hotel in Baker City, Oregon. Plans had been made a month earlier to stay at the Geiser as a vacation spot. Two weeks later an article in the Oregonian had announced it was haunted! What an added bonus! The Geiser Grand was built in 1889 during a gold mining boom. It closed after the cast of the movie"Paint Your Wagon" stayed there in the summer of 1968. Seven million dollars later, restoration was complete in 1998. It has the reputation of being the finest Hotel between Salt Lake City and Seattle. Staff members told stories of hearing children in the library, when it was closed and shadowy figures gracing the fine halls. The staff was very accomodating allowing us into the wine cellar in the basement. We picked up some very bright spirit orbs in the area where underground tunnels had been sealed off. In our room, Renee felt her hair being pulled a few times and once it felt like an quick electrical charge went through her hair. For the most part of the stay though it was actually pretty quiet without a lot of activity. A big thank you goes to the staff of the Hotel for allowing us to roam the building after hours. We highly reccomend you stay at The Geiser if you are ever out that way. Their website is www.geisergrand.com. We can't wait to go back!

A big thanks to David & Lise Beals and Patrick Hackworth for all their time dedicated to helping out with the Halloween tours in The Shanghai Tunnels. Michael was very appreciative. Good job!

We wish to thank all the NWPI members who helped out this year with the Huckleberry Festival. Your help is always needed and very much appreciated.
