RoboHelp

Changing Topic Titles

One of the tricks of RoboHelp is that you must use RoboHelp to perform many of the routine tasks you used to do in Word. One such task is changing topic titles. You must always change topic titles in RoboHelp, not in Word. RoboHelp stores information for a topic title in the topic footer. It uses this footer information every time it references a topic. Changing the topic title in Word does not change the footer information. Because of this, RoboHelp will continue to reference the topic by its "old" title instead of the title you changed it to in Word. To change a topic title properly, you must go through the topic properties using RoboHelp Explorer.

To change topic titles:

  1. In RoboHelp Explorer, select the topic whose ID you want to change.
  2. Right-click the topic and select Properties.

The Topic Properties dialog appears. Use this dialog to set various properties for a single topic.

  3. Select the General tab.
  4. Enter the new topic title in the Topic Title: field.
  5. Click OK.

RoboHelp updates the topic title. The new title appears in both RoboHelp Explorer and in Word.
