Inserting Images

It's important to remember to use Robohelp to do many of the functions you would normally do in Word. Inserting an image is such a common task. You should alway remember to insert images using one of RoboHelp's options, not Word's.

To insert an image in RoboHelp:

  1. In Word, locate the topic into which you want to insert an image.
  2. Place the cursor at the point at which you want the image to appear.
  3. Click the New Help Image button in the RoboHelp toolbar (following figure).

    New Help Image Button

    New Help Image Button

The Insert Help Image dialog appears. Use this dialog to work with images in your help project.

  4. Enter the name of the image in the File name: field, or scroll through the list of images and select the one you want.
    Tip
A common compile warning flag informs you that an image has been used as both transparent and non-transparent. You can specify transparency using the Transparent checkbox in the lower right corner of the Insert Help Image dialog.
You can also direct RoboHelp to insert the image as true code by selecting the True Code checkbox in the bottom left corner of the dialog. True code displays the image information RoboHelp uses rather than displaying the image itself. Inserting an image as true code can prevent RoboHelp and Word from choking on larger help projects when they try to display images.
  5. Click OK.

RoboHelp inserts the image into your help project.
