Majaor events held by the ELT and Applied Linguistics Department at the University of Tambov (Russia). Head of the Department - Dr. Radislav MILLROOD
The first international seminar "Methodology of Classroom Research in English Language Teaching" took place at the University of Tambov on 18-19 September, 2001 The seminar featured reports from regions accross Russia, USA, UK, and Turkey.
The second international seminar "Discourse in Language Teaching" took ploace at the University of Tambov on 5-6 November, 2002. There were participants from Russia, USA, Canada, UK, Estonia, Turkey, Greece. Each participant received a volume of published conference proceedings. The third international seminar "Teaching English in the Global Cross-cultural space was held at the University of Tambov on 22-23 October 2003. Over 30 regions from across Russia and five countries, including the USA, India, Bulgaria, Greece and Malaisia were taking part. The conference proceedings were published in a volume of articles and abstracts.
The 10th Jubilee NATE conference (National Association of English Language Teachers in Russia) took place at the Univesity of Tambov on 31 May - 4 June 2004. for visiting conference site click here Over 300 participants came from 6 countries, including Russia, USA, UK, Germany, Czeck Republic and India. The conference achieved its goals of building ELT professional community. The participants enjoyed the post-conference visit to the village of Ivanovka where great Sergey Rakhmaninov was creatring his masterpieces for nearly twenty years of his life.
