HOPE THAT IT RAINS COFFEE IN THE FIELD |
Juan Luis Guerra’s song “Ojala Que Llueva Cafe En El Campo,” is a song that celebrates God’s blessings on us as our basic necessities are fulfilled. The song may come across as an incantation when it says that the poor hope to at the least have coffee somehow fall from the sky. As you’ll hear, it’s a reminder of how simple the people’s needs really are. Further, it invites us to be that “cafe” for someone else, maybe not necessarily saving the people, but in our own little way helping them as best as we can to meet their needs. And then… celebrate together our blessings. |
